The number of grafts that we use in implantation process for the hair transplant procedure depends on many factors viz. a successful hair transplant procedure can be done. It depends upon the donor area, hair density, needed number of hair follicles to cover the bald areas and many more things that are related to the scalp strength of the safe donor zone and also the genetic quality of the person, i.e., somebody has genetically dense hair, curled hair or somebody has naturally thinning hair have lower density of hair.
The density of hair is interrelated with the number of grafts can be harvested from donor portion in the hair transplant procedure. The best outcome of high-density hair transplant is resulting in the most natural, dense hair and gives the best results in terms of dense, fuller and natural re-grown hair.
The amount of donor’s hair for a hair transplant varies according to the density of the occipital area means the back part of your scalp where hairs are not programmed to die. Average density in these areas is 60-120 follicular units per square centimetre or 100-120 hairs. The donor area has at least 10,000 follicular units and an expert surgeon can successfully implant the grafts as per the need of baldness.
For the balding grade of 5, 6 & 7 it is required to implant more numbers of grafts so that the bald areas will be fully covered with densely packed hair and that is possible with the Giga or mega session.
