5 ways to treat back pain at home

Back pain is a part of life for many of us. However, there are ways of dealing with it at home. Look up the following ways on how to get rid of back pain:

    1. Rub a back pain cream on the area

The easiest and most effective way to get rid of back pain is to rub a good pain relief cream on it. Try a reliable pain relief cream like Moov – it contains an active complex of painkilling ingredients like turpentine oil, wintergreen oil, eucalyptus oil and mint extracts. The cream removes the cause of the lower back pain by penetrating deep into the muscles and offering relief within just a few minutes of application. Use it before going to bed for a few nights.

    2. Get a massage

A massage not only soothes the painful muscles in the back, but also loosens the painful or knotted muscle and gets it back in working condition. It is one of the most popular remedies among those who wish to know how to cure back pain at home. Lie down on your belly and get a family member to gently ‘knead’ the painful muscles. If the area is sore or swollen, then it should not be massaged but instead, an ice pack should be applied to reduce the swelling. If you suspect that the swelling is due to an internal injury, consult a doctor at once.

    3. Eat alkaline food to reduce inflammation

Most back pain is caused by fluid build up around a localised injury site in the back. The fluid performs the function of keeping the area protected while it heals, but it can also cause stiffness in the muscle. Most back pain can be removed by reducing the inflammation at the site of the pain. The easiest way to do this is to consume alkaline food and drinks. Alkaline foods include fresh fruit, seasonal vegetables, leafy vegetables, legumes and nuts. You can drink diluted apple cider vinegar twice a day – it has an alkaline effect inside the body. Avoid meat, dairy, processed foods, caffeine and alcohol as part of lower back pain treatment.

    4. Take light exercise

Gentle stretching improves blood circulation, and increased circulation of oxygenated blood helps ease back pain considerably. On waking up, stretch your hands towards the sky slowly while sitting upright in bed. Throughout the day, bend your back slowly and move your shoulders so that your back doesn’t become stiff. You can also do some light weight training and cardio so that toxins are released with sweat and the muscles become limber.

    5. Correct your posture

Most back pain is the result of a poor posture. When you stand or sit, make sure your shoulders are pulled back and your spine is straight. When lying down, your mattress should not sag under your weight but support your spine adequately.
