Your consultant has a legal duty to inform you of any risks that are associated with cosmetic procedure, before you consent. However, to protect your own safety, you should conduct as much research as possible prior to the procedure to ensure that you are sufficiently educated on the events that are going to take place before, after and during your surgery. Though complications are rare, they, as well as cases of cosmetic surgery negligence do happen so ensure you take all of these risks into consideration. You need to ensure that the benefits outweigh the potential negatives of plastic surgery.
