The embroidery is usually hand-worked on the Anarkali suit and often in traditional fashion. There are popular colours for Anarkali suits which are usually vibrant colours such as, magentas, blues, and aquamarines and of course reds. Red coloured Anarkali suits are very traditional and considered extremely auspicious.
