Home Living: Invisible elements every home should have

[su_quote cite=”Melissa Michaels”]Our homes should inspire us to go out into the world to do great things and then welcome us back for refreshment.[/su_quote]

Undoubtedly, when it comes to making a home feel like truly your own, there should be a lot of personal elements and aspects peppered about. In this regard, homeowners would then incorporate different kinds of furniture, art, and even design aspects to make their homes distinctly their own. However, while all these are great for increasing overall aesthetics, there are also some elements that are albeit invisible to the naked eye, paramount to a comfortable way of life.

These elements, although almost always overlooked, would make a significant difference to just how livable your home truly is. Regardless of whether you are residing at Avida towers Cebu or elsewhere, ensure your home has these four elements present:

    1.) A sense of privacy

Before anything else, our homes are places that we consider as our sanctuary. In this regard, it is the safest place that we can be. In fact, any breach into our homes would be regarded as an affront to us as this is our most sacred place. With this in mind, every room in your homes should feel as private as you wish it to be. Your private rooms should be completely closed off and no one should be able to hear or see you while you are doing your business. Furthermore, bedrooms themselves should have a sense of privacy about them so that you can easily retire without being bothered.

    2.) A sense of security

Your homes should make you feel secure at all times. In this regard, you should adequately arm it with all the necessary treatments to ensure you and your family’s protection. If you have big floor-to-ceiling windows facing busy streets, ensure that you have enough window treatments to keep prying eyes off of you. Similarly, your interior and exterior locks should be sufficient enough to make you feel secure, and all of your valuables should be tucked away in a secure place.

3.) A warm and welcoming feel

Unless you intend on living like a hermit for the rest of your life, your homes should carry that welcoming ambiance and warm atmosphere. Your guests and visitors as well as you should all feel universally welcome the moment you step into your homes. Moreover, the welcoming feel should extend from the homes to you. When receiving visitors, they should not be made to feel like they should tiptoe around you and would feel as welcome as they can. You may not realize it, but there may be some ways that you are inadvertently making your guests feel unwelcome. Whether it is your overly meticulous attitude about cleanliness or all the complaining you do. Be mindful of what it is and endeavor to change it.

4.) A sense of warmth and comfort

Warmth, in the literal and figurative sense of the word, is an integral element in one’s home. Sure, you need to feel warm inside when the temperature drops by several degrees during the colder months. But in the same vein, your home should also have that warm and homey feeling that fosters kindness and love within your family. Your homes should help you cultivate familial ties and carry an excellent conversation. In a way, it is that intangible feeling of being comforted, and while some may consider it to be magical, it is nonetheless important in every home. Fill your homes with love and laughter and make it into a place you would look forward to coming home to every night.
